Alley Archive Pictures

Please allow time for your browser to download the pics, 13 in all. PS. A little bit of info/history is located at the bottom of this page. Thanks

These are some of the "better" pictures taken of the Alley when it was located at 47 North 4Th Street. I tried to clean them up a little with Irfan-Viewer, but with little success. Sorry for the poor quality. They were taken in haste for insurance purposes. Makes me wish that I would have taken a little more time. John Lennons' lyrics, "you don't know what you've got untill you lose it - you don't know what you've got untill it's gone ...", rings clear tonight.

Another entrance photo, with updated corner signs. Thanks Mike and crew.

This is a front / right view of the meeting room. Our 12 and 12 framed poster boards were moved to the new location.

Sort of a rough picture, but this was the center of the room. You can make out the speakers table and podium in the front though.

One of our book cases, which also served as our Grapevine display.

This was another item that made it to the new Alley. The Serenity Prayer in needle point. Thanks Carolyn.

Just like the big city, an office/sanctuary/storeroom/repair shop, etc.

Oh Yes, Every group I should think has one. I have no clue to how much coffee poured though that old urn. At least two drunks and a cup of coffee = a meeting. And you don't even really need the coffee.

Our backwall, more shelves and our free literature rack. Thanks Ed.

Old reliable. Yea right! I guess you had to be there, but it did help pay the rent.

Another office shot. Storage space and safes. No money - nice safes.

A view of the back of the meeting room.

The "Alley" was located in a step-down basement. The ceiling was low, about 7 feet. A lot of the wiring and plumbing was located even a little lower than that. The meeting room size was about 24' X 35'. Our meetings attendance ranged from 2 to 70 A.A.s. You needed a little bit of sobriety just to manuver the room. SMILE. When we vacated this building to the new location we were holding 17 meetings per week. (See meeting list page.)
